New Diaspora - trailer

New Diaspora is an open letter with multiple senders and even more recipients, focusing on the personal stories of Greeks who decided to move abroad.

The main narrative drive is a web documentary series directed by Nicolas Stamboulopoulos, who lives and works in Amsterdam since October 2009.

At the same time, New Diaspora is an open community, where expatriate Greeks can share their own creative content and opinions, from wherever they are. Documenting themselves on video, sending photos, writing posts and proposing ideas that are relevant to the platform’s subject.

Beginning our journey from what unites us instead of what divides us, our aim is to intervene jointly and dynamically in the public debate concerning what’s happening in our homeland. Also, to redefine our collective identity and to offer an alternative perspective on the international image of Greeks.

In order to retain our independence, we rely on financial support from our friends. Even the smallest contribution counts.

Let’s make this happen! Please share and support our crowdfunding campaign!  —>  igg.me/at/newdiaspora/

It’s time to tell our own part of the story. —> newdiaspora.com/

Amsterdam 2013

by Woodwork

In 2013 Amsterdam celebrates over a thousand years of culture combined.

We are honored to celebrate our vibrant city, by invitation of …,staat Amsterdam. In this short film we salute free thinkers, free wifi, early morning bike rides and venues like the Felix Merites, Concertgebouw, Van Gogh Museum, Hermitage and The Rijksmuseum.

Amsterdam has many different faces, since it houses a diverse range of cultures and individuals. Celebrating her residents needed something truly festive and we couldn’t think of anything more festive then confetti! Besides shooting throughout the city, we also used our own studio using the Sony F65.

Tears of Steel. Written and Directed by Ian Hubert. CGI VFX Short.

“Tears of Steel” is a short film made in Amsterdam the Netherlands by the Blender Institute, well known for realizing the open source short animation movies “Big Buck Bunny” (2008) and “Sintel” (2010). As usual these films get financing by crowd-funding in online communities of 3D artists and animators. http://mango.blender.org/

Girl shouting: “Why don’t you just admit you’re freaked-out by my robot hand!!” (shows freaky robot hand) LOL! That begins nicely!  The Blender Foundation presents: Tears of Steel - first teaser. An independent short sci-fi movie with robots and freaky disembodied brains. It is set in Amsterdam -my hometown- with it’s cute recognizable architecture and canals. The film freatures performances from Sergio Hasselbaink, Derek de Lint, Rogier Schippers, and Jody Bhe. Check the site: Project Mango

Hey everybody! I made a new presentation, this time for Intratel Ringdesk. It’s an app/software sollution that replaces your telephone system. I loved animating the characters. There’s a little easter egg in the beginning. Guy gets eaten by dinosaur. It’s in dutch so fingers in your ears if you don’t understand dutch.. ;)
